Trekking

Trekking was good. I felt as if I was doing exercise. There were lots of ponies to carry our stuff, they saddled one pony to carry us (us means Fire and I).

The location

The trek was basically hiking so we had to hike (except for Fire and I sometimes) to the base camp. It was the GandaLa Base Camp. It is 4550 meters high. The path was very rocky.

Flash Flood!

At the Base Camp there was a flood in the night. We had to run into the tea tent.It was not safe to go on. So we did not do trekking as planned. On the second day we had to cross wild rivers.

The way home

I was carried across by guides but my parents had to walk across. The river’s sound was like this:rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. And after the flood ALL of the roads in the valley were flooded and muddy. The rivers were so high that we could not cross all of them at once so we had to stay there three days. The third day the guides told us that the rivers were NOW not too high so we had to run out of the tent and hike over the rivers as fast as we could.

My trip rating

Trekking was a bit bad and lots of fun. I want to go again to the GandaLa mountain.
